How to remove the background (step by step)
- Open the Background Remover.

Transparent PNG or JPG?

If you're not sure, download the transparent PNG. You can always add a background later. A JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas become white.
How to get clean edges
The AI works best when it can clearly tell the subject from the background. A few things make a big difference:
- Contrast: a dark subject on a light background (or the reverse) gives the cleanest cut-out. Avoid a white shirt against a white wall.
- Sharp focus: blurry photos give blurry edges. Tap to focus on your subject before taking the photo.
- Light: soft, even light, without strong shadows that look like part of the subject.
- One clear subject: a person, a product, an animal or a car. Very busy scenes with many objects are harder.
- Hair: fine strands are kept well against a plain background. Against a busy background, some strands may be lost.
If the result isn't perfect, try another photo of the same subject. It's usually faster than fixing edges by hand.
